2nd ICAPPS 2017

For the second time, the Faculty of Pharmacy, UI, held the International Conference on Advance Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science (ICAPPS) 2017. This 2nd ICAPPS was held in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, precisely at The Santosa Villas and Resort on October 19-20, 2017. Still has the same goal, namely to build, develop and strengthen national and international networks among academics, scientists / researchers, and practitioners in the field of Pharmaceutical science and provide an excellent opportunity to absorb information and experience from world-class experts. In addition, the main goal of this 2nd ICAPPS is to provide an extraordinary and exclusive forum for participants to share their perceptions and to learn about the latest research methods and findings in several topics, such as Halal Products, Forensic Science, Drug Discovery and Development, Natural Products and Nutraceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology, Excipients and Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Development of Analytical Methods, Cosmetic Science, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Clinical Pharmacy, and Community Pharmacy.

This activity is in collaboration with the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Government regarding halal tourism which is currently identified with Lombok and was attended by the Head of the NTB Provincial Health Office, dr. Nurhandini Eka Dewi.Sp.A who represented the Governor of NTB, Dr. TGH. Muhammad Zainul Majdi, MA who was unable to attend to give a speech. The conference was opened by the Vice Rector for Research and Innovation Prof. Dr. rer. Nat Rosari Saleh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UI Dr. Mahdi Jufri, M.Si., Apt. together with the Director General of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Dr. Maura Linda Linda Sitanggang and the Head of the NTB Provincial Health Office.

This conference successfully brought 7 people for plenary speakers both from within and outside the country. Among them are Prof. Eiji Matsuura from Okayama University, Japan with the theme " Theranostics: Holistic and Revolutionized Regime in Cardiovascular Medicine" , Prof. James McElnay, from Queen's University of Belfast, UK with the theme " Improving the Use of Existing Medicines" , Prof. Syed Azhar, from USM, Malaysia with the theme " Diabetes and Osteoporosis: Are we pharmacists aware of it?" , then there are Assc. Prof. Thakur Raghu Raj Singh, Queen's University of Belfast, UK with the theme " Minimally Invasive Transscleral Drug Delivery ", Prof. Ibrahim Jantan, UKM, Malaysia with the theme " Integrated Approach in Natural Product Research for Discovery of New Drug Leads and Development of Herbal Medicine", Prof. Dr. Rusli Ismail, Unisza, Malaysia with the theme " Why and How Methadone" and finally Prof. Yahdiana Harahap, M.Sc, Apt, from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Indonesia, with the theme " Halal Pharmaceuticals: Challenges and Opportunities".

It is hoped that this conference will provide new knowledge about consumer protection for global health products and services from a legal perspective and provide an opportunity for national and international researchers to conduct joint research related to consumer protection for global health products and services.
