Pharmacy is not the first time inviting Dr. HC Martha Tilaar to give a guest lecture, but every year she is willing to attend to provide interesting material in between her busy schedule. The guest lecture, which took place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM WIB, was attended by a number of UI Pharmacy students, especially many Herbal Masters students.
On this occasion, Martha Tilaar presented the topic "The Martha Tilaar Way of Entrepreneurial Leadership." She outlined nine principles she applies to entrepreneurial leadership, namely:
1. Be Visionary. Think Big! Dream Big! Action Big!
This principle means thinking far ahead and having a strong will to carry out the long-term goals you want to achieve.
2. In Every Difficulty, There Is A Big Opportunity
When faced with a difficulty, there is an opportunity to develop oneself.
3. Take Risks. If You Risk Nothing, You Become Nothing
In carrying out a business, a person must dare to take risks and face the consequences that may arise.
4. Listen to the Customers with Your Deepest Heart
Listen to customers and implement innovations according to target market segments.
5. Follow Your Instinct. Trust Your Gut
Be confident in the steps and decisions taken.
6. Always Focus on the Customer's Problem. Solve Them!
Solve every customer problem
7. Be Passionate! Sleep and Dream with your business
Carry out your work wholeheartedly. Martha Tilaar applies Sustainable Development Principles in developing the Martha Tilaar Group. Some of the principles she upholds are "Think
Globally, Act Locally” to continue to bring Indonesia to the global stage; as well as the Balinese philosophy of “Tri Hita Karana” which is to maintain harmony between humans and God, fellow humans, and
natural.
8. Never Give Up. Learn from the Mistakes
Never give up. Take on new challenges as opportunities to learn. Dream big, start small, act fast.
9. Be Honest. Trust Is Your Most Valuable Asset
We must be trustworthy in the eyes of our customers. If we don't earn their trust, we won't win their hearts. (ZA)
