Depok, July 17, 2026 – The Faculty of Pharmacy (FF) of the University of Indonesia (UI) received a benchmarking visit from the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) UI on Thursday (16/7) to study the management of the Pharmacist Professional Study Program as a reference for the planned development of the Professional Study Program within the FKM UI environment. The activity, which took place in the PA 212 Meeting Room, Building A of the UI Health Sciences Cluster, became a forum for sharing good practices regarding the implementation of professional education, starting from academic governance, curriculum, to practice-based learning systems.
The FKM UI delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Besral, SKM, M.Sc., Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, accompanied by Dr. Laila Fitria, SKM, M.Kes., Academic, Internationalization, and Student Affairs Manager, Dr. Budi Hartono, S.Si., MKM, Cooperation and Venture Manager, Dr. Fitri Kurniasari, SKM, MKKK, Ph.D., Head of the Environmental Health Undergraduate Study Program, Dr. Zakianis, SKM, MKM, Head of the Environmental Health Department, and representatives of the Public Health Study Program. Meanwhile, the UI Faculty of Pharmacy was represented by Dr. apt. Santi Purna Sari, M.Si., Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Dr. apt. Baitha Palanggatan Maggadani, M.Farm., Manager of Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Dr. apt. Catur Jatmika, M.Sc., Head of the Pharmacist Professional Study Program, Dr. apt. Meidi Utami Puteri, M.Sc., Ph.D., Secretary of the Pharmacist Professional Study Program, and Dr. apt. Atika Wahyu Puspitasari, M.Farm., Head of the Undergraduate Pharmacy Study Program.

Kicking off the event, Dr. apt. Santi Purna Sari, M.Si., expressed her appreciation for the benchmarking visit conducted by FKM UI. She believes that interfaculty collaboration is a crucial step in supporting the development of quality professional education, particularly through the exchange of experiences and best practices implemented in each study program.
"We welcome the benchmarking visit from the Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia. We hope that through this discussion and exchange of experiences, the various good practices implemented in the Pharmacy Professional Study Program can serve as a reference for the development of professional study programs at FKM UI, thereby supporting the provision of quality professional education," said Dr. Santi.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Besral, SKM, M.Sc., explained that this benchmarking was carried out as part of FKM UI's preparation for opening a Professional Study Program, in line with the mandate of the Health Law, which encourages the implementation of professional education in the field of Public Health Nutrition. He considered the UI Faculty of Pharmacy's experience in managing the Pharmacist Professional Study Program to be a very valuable lesson for FKM UI.
"We want to learn from the experience of the UI Faculty of Pharmacy, which has previously provided professional education. The various inputs regarding curriculum, academic governance, practice platforms, and evaluation systems will be crucial in preparing the implementation of the Professional Study Program at the UI Faculty of Public Health," said Prof. Besral.

Entering the main agenda, Dr. apt. Catur Jatmika, M.Si. explained the management of the Pharmacist Professional Study Program at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Indonesia. The presentation included the development of a curriculum based on Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL), study load and accumulated learning hours, management of professional work practice facilities, and competency evaluation mechanisms through the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). In addition, participants also gained an overview of the importance of national regulatory support through the Association of Indonesian Pharmaceutical Colleges (APTFI) and the College of Pharmacy as the foundation for the implementation of professional education in Indonesia.
The interactive discussion session addressed various strategic aspects of implementing a professional study program. Topics covered included the qualifications of teaching faculty, strategies for providing practical training, determining the number of credits and learning hours, competency evaluation mechanisms, and the student recruitment process. The UI Faculty of Pharmacy team also shared their experiences in addressing various challenges in implementing professional education and provided recommendations based on practices implemented in the Pharmacist Professional Study Program.
On this occasion, the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Indonesia (UI) also encouraged the Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia (FKM UI) to expand benchmarking to other professional study programs with similar characteristics to gain a more comprehensive perspective in developing professional education governance and systems. The meeting concluded with a commitment from both faculties to continue to open up discussions and strengthen collaboration in developing higher education in the health sector. Through this activity, it is hoped that the synergy between the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Indonesia (UI) and the Faculty of Public Health, UI, can continue to be established in supporting the improvement of the quality of professional education at the University of Indonesia.
