Daewoong Pharmaceutical and the University of Indonesia (UI) have launched a collaboration on the Pharmaceutical R&D Education Program, which began in April this year. The Pharmaceutical R&D Education Program, held at the Daewoong Pharmaceutical R&D Center in South Korea, is a global talent development program that provides practical experience and education in drug and new formulation development for Master's and Ph.D. students at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Indonesia (FFUI).
In January 2021, Daewoong Pharmaceutical and the University of Indonesia signed an academic collaboration agreement for participants, consisting of Master's and Ph.D. students from the UI Faculty of Pharmacy. Students who participate in a six-month training program at a South Korean pharmaceutical company will earn Semester Credit Units (SKS). At the same time, the company will benefit from development of the global pharmaceutical industry and support for pharmaceutical experts.
Furthermore, in mid-April 2021, FFUI students who were selected after passing the selection and interview process received information and guidance from Daewoong Pharmaceutical and researchers from the Daewoong Pharmaceutical R&D Center regarding the practical training and educational classes that would be conducted in this program. They were placed in the Chemical Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical Research Division, Daewoong Pharmaceutical R&D Center located in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do Province, South Korea until August 2021. The eight students were provided with knowledge, practical experience and participated in the actual drug development research process. Participants with the best evaluation scores during this program will receive additional points when applying for jobs at Daewoong Pharmaceutical in the future.
