The Doctoral Study Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Indonesia (PS S3 Pharmaceutical Sciences, FFUI) has been held since 2010, based on UI Chancellor's Decree No. 0072/SK/R/UI/2010 dated 2 February 2010.
The Doctoral Study Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences can be followed in 2 pathways, namely: through the Coursework and Research Pathway and through the Research Pathway (for those who meet the study by research requirements). The current curriculum is the 2024 Curriculum which is implemented based on Regulation of Rector of Universitas Indonesia No. 3 of 2024 concerning the Implementation of Doctoral Programs. The Doctoral Study Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences is designed to be completed in three years with 88 credits in total (1 credit ≈ 1,5 ECTS/European Credit Transfer System). The course is designed so that students can start research in the second semester, so that publication as a graduation requirement can be achieved.
Supported by researchers who are experts in the field of pharmaceutical sciences and collaboration with other institutions, both domestic and international, the Doctor of Pharmaceutical Science program covers research topics in the field of Pharmacy, including, but not limited to, the following research topics: Drug delivery systems; Drug product development; Cosmetic product development; Herbal product development; Utilization of natural materials in the pharmaceutical field; Drug design and synthesis; In silico drug molecule modeling; Pharmaceutical analysis and bioanalysis; Pharmaceutical microbiology and biotechnology; Pharmacology and toxicology; Clinical pharmacy; Social pharmacy; Telepharmacy; Pharmaceutical policy and regulation; and Industrial pharmacy.
Graduates of the Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences are capable of advancing knowledge and technology in the field of pharmacy through research, and of solving problems using inter-, multi-, or transdisciplinary approaches. They are also able to manage, lead, and develop research that benefits both the advancement of pharmaceutical science and the welfare of humanity, resulting in creative, original, and validated works that gain national and international recognition.
To establish a Doctoral Program at the Faculty of Pharmacy that produces outstanding Doctors of Pharmaceutical Sciences who are capable of addressing problems and challenges at both national and global levels, aiming for global excellence.
