Herbal Master Study Program
Formal education, in this case related to herbs, is still a necessity and obligation for society to gain recognition both nationally and internationally, especially at the tertiary level. Herbal science was formed to be able to optimally utilize Indonesian medicinal plant resources into herbal medicines as a rational complement/alternative whose safety, effectiveness and quality have been tested, so that they can be used in formal treatment/service systems as preventive, promotive, curative and/or rehabilitative and health care side by side with conventional medicine. Apart from that, to combine herbal medicine and the use of herbs in health and beauty care that has clear scientific benchmarks and indicators.
The Herbal Masters Program at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Indonesia, was held starting in September 2010 and was strengthened by the Decree of the Chancellor of the University of Indonesia No. 0148/SK/R/UI/2010, dated 19 February 2010.

Graduate Profile
Graduates of the Master of Herbal Medicine Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Indonesia are able to develop innovative and tested herbal products, recommend their use in solving health problems, and manage research related to raw materials and herbal products that are beneficial to society and science.
Study Program Objectives
1. Produce graduates who:
have high intellectuality, noble character, and entrepreneurial spirit;
able to compete at national and regional levels;
able to develop research-based science and technology that supports the industrial revolution 4.0 in the use of innovative and tested herbs;
2. Produce original and quality herbal research, as well as produce innovative herbal products based on entrepreneurship;
3. Produce community service in the herbal field that is beneficial to society.
Curriculum
The Master of Herbal Study Program has two (2) educational pathways, namely the lecture pathway and the research pathway. The study period for the Herbal Master's Study Program for both routes is each scheduled for 4 (four) semesters and can be taken within a maximum of 6 (six) active semesters. The study load given is 40 credits. The Master of Herbal Study Program courses consist of Compulsory Courses and Free Elective Courses.

Prospective Student Requirements
Study and Research Pathway Requirements:

Sarjana bidang: Farmasi, Kedokteran, Kedokteran Gigi, Keperawatan, Biologi, Kimia dan Teknik Kimia yang dibuktikan dengan mengunggah Ijazah S1 dan Transkrip.

Diplomas from foreign universities must receive equivalency from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education.

Minimum S1 GPA of 3.00 (three point zero zero) on a scale of 4 or its equivalent, for applicants who are graduates of B-accredited study programs (The study program accreditation in question is the current accreditation proven by a legalized photocopy of the accreditation certificate).

Graduates other than bachelor of pharmacy must take matriculation courses in basic pharmaceutical sciences with a maximum credit load of 12 credits. Students can continue their education in the Master's Program if they pass all matriculation courses within a maximum of 2 (two) semesters with a minimum matriculation GPA of 3.00.
Additional Requirements for the Research Track:

Have a research track record proven by scientific publications at least in the SINTA 3 journal.

Have a research plan that will be carried out and will be assessed during the interview by the Study Program.
